Dementia Caregiving Made Easy

  • Caregiving is a choice

  • Caregiving is easy

  • Caregiving is possible

  • Caregiving is contentment

1. Prepare

The fact is, when someone you love is diagnosed with dementia, it is easy to do the "Ostrich Maneuver". Where it is easy to stick your head in the sand and wait for it all to pass. The problem with that is, dementia has entered your life and things will never quite be the same again. We do know one thing about dementia, and that is that if you live long enough, you will need 24 hour care. So it is better to prepare from the start.

2. Prioritize

The next thing you need is to prioritize your own health and well being, as well as prioritize your roles and then we prioritize your parents needs. This is not to say that your parents are not important, but recognizing that this is a marathon, not a sprint and that we need to prioritize you and your health in order for you to help them.

3. Plan

Lastly, it is vital to plan your dementia caregiving journey. Even though when you have met one person with dementia, you have met one person with dementia, there are lots of commonalities and overlap. We have a proprietary framework to help you plan your dementia care journey from start to finish, which means you will never guess what you need to do next.
